in the framework of the DFG Priority Program ``Multiscale Problems''

at University of Konstanz (Germany), October 25-26, 2001

This workshop in the framework of the DFG Priority Program ``Multiscale Problems'' will be held in the University of Konstanz from October 25 (morning, 9:00am) until October 26 (afternoon, around 4:00pm). The workshop concerns both multiscale problems in quantum mechanics AND averaging techniques (also for more general partial differential equations). The following plenary/invited talks have been confirmed

    Title to be announced
  •  B. Fiedler (FU Berlin)
    Quantitative homogenization

  • H.C. Kaiser (WIAS Berlin)
On an open quantum system driven by a macroscopic flow

  • C. Lubich (Tuebingen)
Numerical integrators for quantum-classical molecular dynamics

  • P. Markowich (Vienna, Austria)
    Title to be announced

  • A.M. Matache (ETH Zuerich, Switzerland)
    Generalized FEM for homogenization problems

  • A. Mielke (Stuttgart)

Wave propagation in artificial media - Application to quantum nanostructures and photonic microstructures
  • You are kindly invited to participate in this workshop. If you need hotel accomodation, please send an e-mail to Mrs. W. Pfeiffer, including the arrival and departure days and the type of room (single or double). Those who already sent us their accomodation request will receive informations about the booked hotel from the Tourist Information Konstanz. The preliminary program will be send in October. We are glad to welcome you in Konstanz in October 2001!
